15/11/07 - Excellent customer service provided by South Staffs Water.

The Birmingham based, water regulator, Ofwat, has issued a report confirming that customers to South Staffs Water continue to receive the highest standards of service, well above the industry average.

Ofwat measures water companies' overall delivery of service to their customers. Of the 22 water companies in England and Wales, South Staffs is ranked in the top five for the eighth consecutive year for its services to customers. This performance confirms that customers receive high standards of customer service, that drinking water quality is of the highest standard; that there are few incidents of low pressure or supply interruptions; and the Company promotes a sustainable local water environment.

These high levels of service are coupled with an average household water bill in the South Staffs area that is 25% lower than the national average.

South Staffordshire Water serves large parts of the Black Country, including Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley, together with areas such as Tamworth, Burton, Uttoxeter, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield and Cannock. In total, the Company serves a population of 1.2 million. The Company supplies 318 million litres of water every day across a network of pipes that total 6,000 km in length.
