South Staffordshire Plc announces new CEO

South Staffordshire Plc, an integrated services group that operates the regulated water company South Staffordshire Water PLC across the South Staffordshire and Cambridge regions, and provides a range of non-regulated specialist services through SSI Services and Echo Managed Services, has appointed Phil Newland as its Group CEO.

Phil has been with South Staffordshire Plc for 14 years, most recently in the role of managing director of South Staffs Water. Phil’s appointment as Group CEO follows the news that former CEO Adrian Page has decided to step down as CEO of the business after more than 24 years with the Group, during which time the business has grown in turnover from £60m to £300m.

Andy Willicott has been appointed to replace Phil Newland as managing director of South Staffs Water; effective from 11th May. Andy joins from Bristol Water where he held the role of transformation director. Prior to this, Andy’s previous roles include chief operating officer for Sydney Water and executive director with Pennon Group.

Steve Johnson MBE, non-executive chairman of South Staffordshire PLC, said:

“This winter is going to be incredibly difficult for many people, and we are really proud to be supporting The Trussell Trust and a range of local independent foodbanks in the excellent work they do to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Our employees can be really proud of their fundraising efforts, something we as a business wanted to recognise and support. We hope our donations will go some way towards making a real difference to members of our community and hopefully make their winter a little easier.”
